NGS-GIA A Hustings For Glasgow’s Built Environment

Trades Hall of Glasgow

In advance of Glasgow Council Election in May 2022, New Glasgow Society and Glasgow Institute of Architects are organising an evening of Hustings for Glasgow’s Built Environment.

Debuted in 2017, the hustings event for Glasgow’s Built Environment is an excellent platform for candidates of main political parties to manifest their visions focussing on the built environment in the city. Representatives of main political parties will join us as panellists fielding questions from the general public, and discussing their plans for the city - it’s architecture, heritage, and places.

What are the various parties’ plans for the city in the post-Covid world?

What are the key infrastructure challenges facing Glasgow?

What are the plans for tackling the climate emergency after the COP26 Glasgow event?

Where do you think its priorities should lie?

Panellists:

🟡 Chris Cunningham (Scottish National Party)

🟢 Christy Mearns (Scottish Green Party)

🔴 Paul Sweeney MSP (Scottish Labour Party)

🟣 Ronnie Stevenson (Scottish Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition)

🔵 Robert Connelly (Scottish Conservatives)

⚪ Benn Rapson (Independent Candidate)
