Building Stories 2022: A Storytelling Project about Glasgow’s Derelict Buildings

12-18 September 2022, 12pm to 5pm

1307 Argyle Street, G3 8TL Glasgow

Storytelling is important to understanding architecture and our city; it provides an informal discourse between the past, present and future of the built environment we live in.

For this year’s Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival, New Glasgow Society presents our event ‘Building Stories’; a storytelling project about Glasgow’s derelict buildings. We invited the people of Glasgow to submit their stories and images of derelict, disused and at-risk buildings that they care about. These curated stories and images will be exhibited during the Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival 2022, alongside guided tours and talks throughout September. Through this project we hope to raise awareness of the perilous state of our historic architecture and start a conversation about preserving and improving our built environment.
