Event Details
Taking its title from Ursula Le Guin’s ‘The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction’, this exhibition considers the symbiotic relationship between physical spaces, their infrastructures, our bodies and materials.
With works by artists Joanna Peace, M.E. Smit-Dicks, Emma Helen Reid and Jessica Ramm, ‘womb of things to be, tomb of things that were’ weaves together the polyphonic experiences of existing within the urban fabric, and amongst each other.
Situated in two former shop units on High Street, the historic spine of Glasgow, we present a ‘carrier bag’ space, collecting and gathering our embodied encounters – mediating upon personal structures and collective, public architectures.
