Playing on the water is an exhibition of new work by Nikki Kane which follows an extended period of research reflecting on ideas of the River Clyde as an under-used public space. Recent dialogue around these ideas have often centred on the riverbanks as public sites and present the river as a 'monument' or barrier of sorts. This exhibition presents work made in response to the surface of the river itself, and to its movement and materiality, drawing attention to the potential of the water as a site for activity, reflection and motion.
