It is with great pleasure we invite you to the New Glasgow Society Christmas Celebration on 10th December 2015, as we toast the 50th anniversary of the New Glasgow Society.

The NGS was formed in 1965 to stimulate public interest and care of Glasgow's built environment - against the backdrop the large urban reconstruction programme of the time.

Over the last fifty years NGS has been at the forefront of public participation - encouraging a dialogue between Glasgow's people, planners and politicians through a range of activities including meetings, exhibitions, publications, lectures and walks. NHS has also run multiple campaigns to protect the city’s heritage. (At the start, famously campaigning against the infamous Great Western Road Motorway!)

We are marking our fiftieth year with the unveiling of a new shop window display and NGS newsletter showcase, as well as a showing of some highlights of previously unseen films of 1980s Glasgow from the archives of founder member Jean Reid. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.

Come join us on the 10th of December at 1307 Argyle Street, G3 8TL from 6.30-8pm, to toast this rich history.

RSVP by email or via EventBrite.
